Care Packages To Troops
Thanks for the prompt in the October “No Name Column.” I packaged up a bundle of “retired” car magazines and they’re on their way to our troops. Great idea for those mags sitting on the shelf... scored some points on the “home front” as well.

Great you did that Jim.
Door-Less ZJ
My ZJ has a 3.5-inch full traction lift, with 2-inch spacers on top. I am also running the stock 4.0 with a Flowmaster and a turndown, high clearance. I tossed the front sway bar, and installed an Old Man Emu steering stabilizer. Wheels and tires are 32x11.50 BFG Mud Terrains on 15x8 Ultra type 50 wheels. There is a Lock-Rite in the Dana 35, I know, not a good idea. Stock 3.73 gears, Kevin’s Jeep Parts heavy duty crossmember, and radiator support/tow points. Everything on here except the Lock-Rite was bought used, on a budget. Not bad for being 17 and paying for everything on it, including the Jeep, huh? I would really like to be in your magazine.

Please Cover Your Left Eye And Read The Top Line
Love the magazine and look forward to each issue. In your article about Performance Accessories by Steve Temple on page 46, I found something I never knew. “For the uninitiated, with a body lift, the frame is lifted two to three inches....”. That’s a first. Perhaps the proof-reader was “uninitiated.” Keep up the great work!

Mike — You’re right, it would be pretty difficult to lift the frame from the body. An eye exam is in order.
The Boeldt’s & Friends Step Up!
I would like to write and thank 4WPW’s Mesa store. Especially Ethan Ver Hoef. I recently was forwarded an email from a soldier serving in Iraq. As I read the email I realized, I’m sitting in my home, at my desk, eating my lunch without a care in the world. Meanwhile, these people I was reading about were literally at the gates of hell. I felt about two inches tall. I realized I needed to do something, anything to help these people who are risking their lives and living on the edge just to serve their country. I made a few calls, got his address and before I knew it I had over 60 lbs of baby wipes, Oreos, Twinkies, toothpaste, playing cards, magazines and candy to ship off to Iraq. Ethan is a good friend of mine and all the folks at your Mesa store make me and everyone who enters feel like family whenever there. When I stopped by the store that day Ethan was nice enough to donate a couple handfuls of magazines. Your magazine is part of what inspired me to do this after seeing the campaign you have going with sending supplies to our brothers, sisters, moms and dads overseas. I just wanted to say thanks — for the great magazine, the great people you employ and the great idea of supporting our troops any way we can.
- Thank you, thank you, thank you!
- Sincerely, Kim Boeldt

Kim — We thank you for doing this! Keep it up and encourage your friends and neighbors to join in the next time you are sending care packages out.
Some Cool Off-Roading Dudes

My buddies and I just got back from Truckfest in Dallas, Texas. We all got window stickers, and drove to prom the next Saturday.

Corey — Sorry it took so long to get your letter in. Hopefully, you are still in touch with your “Buds” and can share this with them.
The Littlest Rockcrawler

Here’s a photo of my 3 year old sporting a brand new 4 Wheel Parts sticker on his own little rockcrawler. Enjoy!

Everybody’s Ride Is Cool
I’m tired of seeing all these trucks in these off-road magazines that have pictures of trucks that don’t even look that good. I’m not really talking about the featured truck sections, I’m talking about the Letters & Stuff section. The thing is I know that my truck looks better than a lot of them. So I thought why shouldn’t mine be in these magazines. What finally made me decide to write to you was the December ’04 issue that I just received. In the reader feature on page 76, I saw that Ford Ranger, which is what I have and said to myself I have just as many mods if not more done to my truck, and most of all mine looks a lot better than his. Anyways I’m sending you a picture and asking you if you could put my truck in one of your issues sometime.
Brent Pueschel, Pismo Beach, CA
Brent — The purpose of showing our readers’ vehicles in the “Letters & Stuff” column is to give everyone an opportunity to show-off their vehicle. Not everyone has the bucks or the reason to put together a show vehicle as most build a vehicle for their specific off-roading needs, with what they can afford. Either way, they are proud of what they have and want to see it in the magazine. Thanks for sharing your “Pride & Joy” with us.
Luka Likes His Truck

I got my truck lifted at your 4 Wheel Parts and it is so perfect that it should be in your magazine. It’s my pride and joy.
Thanks, Luka Sussman
