How do you make a great 4x4 truck even better? Well, one way is to create your own custom treatment by installing a variety of off-road components. Then again, every so often you can get your hands on a special-edition package, like the No Fear Nissan Titan. This approach has several advantages over the piecemeal route. It’s not only a quicker way to own an off-road ready rig, but also means you have a limited-production vehicle with the possibility of collectible status. Another benefit is that this type of package deal allows buyers to obtain a modified truck directly from a local Nissan dealer, where the upgrades can be included as part of a vehicle loan and come with complete warranty coverage.

These features are all part of the appeal of the new No Fear Titan. It’s the result of a joint program between Dealer Services International, one of the nation’s largest providers of modified trucks to new vehicle dealers, and No Fear Incorporated, well known for edgy clothing products and its association with extreme sports.

The fit is ideal — no pun intended. Here’s a company that makes cutting-edge sportswear for hardcore sports enthusiasts, paired with a truck that’s ready to take on all sorts of adventures. Branded with the tribal-style No Fear chromed logo, this Titan tells everybody it’s ready for some serious off-road action.

The folks at No Fear have an extensive background in motocross and off-road motorsports, both professionally and personally. “As a lifestyle brand, No Fear understands how important a customized truck is to hardcore off-road enthusiasts,” says Brit Galland of No Fear, pointing out that they view it as an extension of themselves in their pursuit of off-road adventures.

That’s why the No Fear Titan is not just an exercise in labeling. It delivers the goods in two different trim levels. The Standard package features a six-inch Pro Comp Suspension Lift. The front and rear cross members of this lift kit are made from heavy-duty 3/16-inch steel that is precision laser cut and CNC formed with a forward offset, centering the front tire in the fender well for improved tire clearance. For high strength and close tolerances, the elongated front spindles consist of one-piece cast, CNC-machined components.

Nicely filling up the raised wheelwells are 17x8.5 Weld polished-aluminum rims trimmed with No Fear bead-lock rings. For extra grip in tough terrain, these gleaming rims are wrapped with Pro Comp Mud Terrain Tires, measuring 35 x 12.50R17. They feature a high-void three-lug shoulder design and twin-rib siping in the center traction zone for superb traction and self-cleaning capability in mud and rocks. The Dualguard polyester body plies are ideal for low-pressure off-road driving without excessive heat buildup.

The No Fear treatment is also evident on the leading edge of this Titan, with diamond-mesh aluminum grilles custom-fabricated for both the upper and lower openings. Inside the cockpit, No Fear logos are proudly displayed on the floor mats, billet aluminum pedals and stainless steel gauge faces, creating a distinctive designer look that enhances the appearance of the interior

For off-roaders who want to take their Titan to an even higher level, the No Fear Extreme Package comes with all the components of the Standard Package, but with the addition of high-performance Pro-Comp coil-over shocks at the front. And at the rear is a Banks Monster Cat-Back Exhaust System with larger diameter, high-flow tubing for improved performance and an impressive exhaust note, all in keeping with the commanding presence of the No Fear Titan. Completing the look and functionality of this Titan is a set of patented-design tubular side steps, rated for as much as 445 pounds each.

To check out the capability of the No Fear Titan we headed out to some of our favorite trails in the hills east of Los Angeles, where veteran dirt-bike rider Adam Baez was catching some air and trying out new tricks. It’s definitely one fearless Titan of a truck.
