THE CASCADE 4X4’S OF TACOMA
THE CASCADE 4X4’S OF TACOMA is a family oriented club of off-highway enthusiasts who have been promoting and preserving the sport of four wheeling for 42 years in the Pacific Northwest. Our club belongs to the PNW4WDA and is made up of over 30 member families that enjoy both trail riding and off-road short course racing.
The club was formed in 1965 and several of the founding members are still active today. In fact, at a typical club camping event it’s not uncommon to find three generations of multiple families sharing stories around the campfire. Many of the club kids belong to the Future 4-Wheelers, which is a PNW4WDA program designed to encourage youth involvement.
Our year begins with a meeting to discuss trails and events in which our club will participate. This year our planning meeting was held at 4-Wheel Parts in Tacoma, Washington. Our calendar for the year once again includes the Sand Flea Rally in Oregon, the PNW4WDA Trail Jamboree, Operation Shore Patrol, our annual doe run (watch out guys, the women are driving on this one), our Christmas tree run as well as runs to many local OHV areas around the Puget Sound. Along with trail runs, some of the members also participate in off-road racing events from May to October.
On August 4, 2007 we will be hosting our 4th annual mud bog at Ethel, Washington. Our kids really like to help out at this event because they can get muddy without too much grief from mom or dad. Camping and concessions will be available for both participants and spectators. Portions of the proceeds go to various charitable causes.
Cascade 4x4’s of Tacoma welcomes other off-road enthusiasts to join us at our monthly club meeting at the Parkland Spanaway library at 7 pm on the 2nd Thursday of each month. Additional information, our monthly calendar, and more pictures can be found on our web site at www.cascade4x4s.com or write to P.O. Box 44703, Tacoma, WA 98448.
