ARB Recovery Gear
Don’t hit the trail without it
When the going gets tough, or the mud or sand gets deep, adhering to the old Boy Scout philosophy “Be prepared” can keep an afternoon wheeling trip from becoming an unplanned overnighter. ARB, Long time purveyor of Air Lockers, suspensions and quality accessories, has recently enhanced its line of off-road recovery gear. Included are a full line of nylon recovery straps, a no-stretch winch extender strap, three rated D-shackles and a newly designed solid billet snatch block. Last on the list of new wares are two heavy-duty canvas bags to keep your gear organized. You can check out the full line of ARB goods at your local 4 Wheel Parts store, or call 800-284-9840 or check out www.4wheelparts.com.

The larger model will accommodate two straps, a tree saver, snatch block, D-shackles and gloves, and has several exterior pockets for storing additional gear. Cool feature: both bags feature a durable inner liner which can be removed for cleaning after your gear is stowed away covered in mud or grime. (right) Because you don’t want your winch line to stretch, a winch-line extender should have the same properties. ARB’s Winch Extension straps are 65-feet in length and are available in 2-inch and 3-inch versions (9,900 and 17,500 lbs working load limits respectively). Formed from 100% polyester, they are ideal for long pulls or when you need to double your winch line.

Completing ARB’s new line of recovery gear are
three models with working load limits of
7280lb, 10,640lb and 19,000lbs. (right) ARB’s new line of recovery straps is woven
from 100-percent nylon and yields a true 20-percent
elasticity. They feature reinforced eyes and
overload warning indicator that consists of an
internal red webbing that is visible when the
strap is pushed to its design load limits. The
straps are available in three versions: a 2.375-
inch 17,500lb, 3-inch 24,000lb unit and a 4-inch,
30,000lb unit for the heaviest applications.
The ARB snatch block, which is rated at 30,000 lbs, features cold rolled 3/16-inch side plates that sit snug against the pulley, eliminating the possibility of the winch cable becoming trapped between the pulley and side plates. The groove on the 5-inch solid billet pulley wheel tapers down to the center, allowing for cable sizes of 1/4 to 1/2 -inch, and ensures the cable is seated securely in the pulley, minimizing lateral movement. To ensure smooth pulley operation, the hardened steel pin is fitted with a nipple, to which grease can be periodically applied.
